It’s Normal For These Things To Change

It’s normal for these things to change on a daily basis:

How fast you feel
How strong you feel
How confident you feel
How resilient you feel

How we feel in our training varies on a daily basis. This is something that is pretty obvious to most people… Some days you feel great! Some days you feel like garbage. Some days you feel like you could run forever. Some days you feel like you’re constantly hurting somewhere.

How we feel depends on many factors. Not even the most current and advanced training technology can predict how we are going to feel tomorrow.

So what should we do? We can minimize the chances of having a “bad day” by fostering a healthy “training ecosystem.”

Stressors of all kinds can contribute to how we feel during our training. Not just physical stressors, but psychological ones too.

So the best thing you can do is … stay on top of good sleep, nutrition, stress management, and sensible training progression.

But no matter what you do, you’ll still have “good” and “bad” days. It’s perfectly normal. Learn to understand them, but ultimately learn to listen to your body and adjust accordingly.
